Though it seems like we’ve been hibernating in the heat, we’re merely readjusting our trousers for what will follow.

A Wooden Birds tour for August, an mpPA tour for late September/October, starting the recording of the following LP, a few video representations of the The Dark Leaves and a compilation demos from the album. Not certain how to put them together or even where to find all the song scraps, but it seems like someone such as myself should have a clue.

In the next weeks there are a few small windows to take on the last bits of the season. We’ll pay some serious heed to any and all your submersion suggestions/invitations. There’s only a little while left to get wet.

And thanks for listening. Or reading. Or doing any of those things that add a beat to our pulse.

Right about now, I/we put ourselves into moving vehicle and hightail ourselves back and forth across the States.

I seriously can’t think of a better crew — Leslie Sisson, George Souleidis, Aram Deradoorian and Chris Hansen. Without sinking into the world of innuendo — they’re the sugar in my bowl, the butter on my bread, the jelly in my roll.

The coldness of passing notes through the inter-world is impossible to get around. But the fact is, we’re probably going to be playing somewhere near you soon. We’d love to see you in less of a type-setting — something a million times more real.

I genuinely appreciate your listening. I’d be singing songs to the walls without it.

Strange to use optimism in the early hours — the ones that were mostly designed for doubt.
This was my first positive Tex-Fest situation. I won’t take it for granted — kick ass
bands, ass kicking suppport — it was right *there* and I’m simply and
legitimately stoked.

Our Wooden Birds/mpPA zigzag around the country is over. All that’s
left to do is sleep. As if that were possible.

The sky is everything right now — pushing purple into blue, bird
calls and black branching outlines — both ominous and easy. Whatever
happens next is alright with me.
